Internship Program

Cocoon House recognizes the significance of creating opportunities to develop the human services workforce, which led to the development of the agency’s internship matching program. Available internship opportunities offer an environment to learn and grow through access to in-person and online training content and, most importantly, practical application alongside our experienced staff.

INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE ON HOLD FOR SUMMER 2024

Learning Competencies:

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Trauma-Informed Care

  • Mandated Reporting

  • Understanding & managing personal/professional boundaries in Human Services

  • Case Management Essentials

  • Behavior Management

  • De-escalation

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Safety: Opioid Overdose Response, CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Worker's Certification, Sexual Abuse Awareness
     

Possible Duties & Responsibilities: (depending on program match)

  • Build supportive relationships with clients through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach

  • Support case management with clients aged 12-24

    • Arrange appointments

    • Submit case and log notes

    • Complete required documentation and reporting

  • Assist with intakes, exits, and referrals into various programs

  • Lead and participate in life-skills-building activities with clients

  • Coordinate with other community providers
